- Talk to an adult who has learned another language.
- Ask them how long it took them to learn the language.
- Ask them what level of proficiency they felt they achieved in their learning.
- Ask them what they believed they could or could not do in the language.
- How does what they say they could do match what you might expect an average speaker to be able to do in their first language?
